Advantages of recycling technology

With our systems for the recovery of used foundry sand, we contribute to ensure that sand – an increasingly scarce resource – can be reused.

Our shock wave technology is used in the field of electronics recycling: by gently and precisely separating materials down into their individual components, these can then be sent for further recycling.

Used sand recovery and reclamation

KLEIN offers complete systems or individual components for the mechanical reclamation of chemically or inorganically bonded foundry sands.

The product range includes the design and supply of unpacking stations, vibrating screens, vibrating conveyor systems, magnetic separators, as well as classifiers and coolers. Noise and dust-proof housings, along with the necessary filtration technology, are also designed and supplied as part of the package. The systems are custom-designed according to customer specifications and the available space in the customer’s respective production area. A wide variety of vibrating crushers and coolers are available for this purpose. For example, both reflux coolers for vertical installation and fluidised-bed coolers for horizontal installation are manufactured. Vibrating crushers for breaking up the sand lumps produced after the casting casting are available in various designs, with discharge options for finished sand both upwards and downwards.

Recycling of electronic equipment

KLEIN’s shock wave technology offers an innovative approach to the recycling of electrical and electronic equipment.

Through the targeted generation of shock waves, entire assemblies and devices are disintegrated in a controlled manner, enabling different materials to be efficiently separated from one another. Metals, plastics, batteries, circuit boards and other materials can then be separated and recovered much more easily using downstream sorting processes. Compared with purely mechanical processes, the material separation is  particularly gentle and with a high degree of selectivity, thus improving the quality of the recyclable fractions. This enhances the recovery of valuable raw materials and supports cost-effective and sustainable recycling processes in the field of electronic waste.
